The Hill Documentary (The Last Little Italy)

The documentary the has been in the works for the past three years has submitted the completed project to St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase. We are extremely hopeful that this will be chosen to be one of the film in the festival. This would be St. Louisians first opportunity to view the long awaited documentary about the Italian Neighborhood in St. Louis, Missouri. As soon as an announcement is made we will post showtimes

The Executive Producer of the documentary is Rio Vitale who also authored the book “The Hill” Images of America. The films Director Joseph Puleo, Editor and Co-producer Steve Cakouros both past festival winners for a short film.
The Whitaker St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase, an annual presentation of the nonprofit Cinema St. Louis, serves as the area’s primary venue for films made by local artists. The Showcase screens works that were written, directed, edited, or produced by St. Louis natives or films/filmmakers with strong local ties.
Submission deadline is May 31. Click here for more information and to submit your film.
Due to the seriousness of the ongoing world health crisis and the ongoing need for strong social distancing, we have had to make the difficult decision to move the St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase this year to an exclusive online platform in July. We encourage you to still submit your projects for consideration, and our staff will continue to evaluate submitted films. Deadlines are still important, but we want to be as flexible as possible to be respectful of filmmakers’ abilities to submit fully completed projects.
